Mizell-tini

Everyone has a go-to drink at home, something that they'll make for themselves because they love it, it's comfortable, and it's good.

The drink that bears our name; the "Mizell-tini" (pernounced "my-zel-tEE-nEE") evolved over time (from a lemon meringue pie - which I will blog about later), with experimentation into what we now make at home as our default 'fun' and simple cocktail.  It requires a blender (and not just any blender...a really GOOD blender).  We recommend the Margarita-ville.

Jimmy Buffett isn't kidding!
  • 1/2 can of frozen raspberry lemonade (or strawberry lemonade)
  • 12 ounces of Pinnacle Whipped vodka (Whipped Cream flavored vodka - yes there is such a thing)
  • Ice
Put a pitcher full of ice in the top of your Margaritaville (the thing that shaves ice before it blends it), Pour the 12 ounces of vodka into the pitcher and add the 1/2 can of frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate.  If you don't have a Margaritaville, I feel bad for you, the thing really is more useful than a toaster.

Put the lid on the pitcher and place the pitcher on its base in the most wonderful appliance in your kitchen.  Press the one magic button on the front of your Margaritaville...

While that's running, take a paper towel and get it moist with some melted raspberry lemonade concentrate, use this to wet the rim of your martini glasses (inside and out about 1/2 inch wide) and rim them with C&H Bakers Sugar (Ultrafine). The Margaritaville stops automatically, so if you don't have one... shut off your blender..

Pour in the slushy goodness... and garnish with a splash of Sprite if you like Cindy's way (...sprite makes a crunchy crust of ice crystals on the top and gives it more of a lime taste.)

Enjoy with friends. - should make about 4 martini glasses full.
